The Archaeology of Tomorrow: Panel Discussion

Adventures in an Artist’s Archive; Panel and Audience Discussion with Mark Waugh, ML Archive Team, Ellie Porter, and others.

Our discussion will explore the journey of creating and placing an archive, both practically and strategically. Each person has a different experience of discovering Matthew's Archive depending on when they encounter it and in what context, as well as on their individual interests and curiosities. What is it like to bring a private personal resource into a public setting and how do you manage the boundaries? We'll look into expectations around the' living Archive' which is rapidly becoming a popular concept; but what do you need to make it a genuine reality and what are the constraints? And how can we care for our own work and lives as artists and creators in a world where everything can feel ephemeral, borrowed, vulnerable or precarious.

Mark Waugh and Ellie Porter are both experienced specialists in Artists' legacies and will be sharing their perspectives on these issues with us together in Cornwall for the first time at this event.
